| Rene’ Harrop 4 Plus Signature Model A tribute to one of the greatest trout fisherman of all time! Over the past decade I have had the opportunity to fish with and get to know some very interesting people. I’d have to say that Rene’ is on of my favorite. As a fly angler, and human being, he has few equals. He’s spent a lifetime on the banks of the Henry’s Fork River and has mentored many an angler (including myself) on the ways of the water. If you’re a trout fisherman and have never read his books then I suggest you go buy them. Start with Trouthunter, then The Way of an Angler. They will forever change the way you look at fly fishing. A few years back I asked Rene’ if he’d like to be part of our Pro Staff, which in hindsight seems laughable for a man of his stature in our sport. Much to my surprise and elation he said yes. Since then, Rene’s insight and feedback have helped us refine our trout reels. In fact, the 4 Plus size was largely at his recommendation. We would have been foolish not to listen. This idea gave way to a more interesting concept. How can we pay tribute to such an important figure in fly fishing? Answer: By creating the very first Rene’ Harrop signature reel. The reel features a completely new frame and spool design that is engraved with Rene’s TroutHunter osprey logo, signature and House of Harrop icon logo. The reel is finished in a Type II grey nickel finish with silver accents. It’s packaged in an embossed leather pouch and placed into a rich cedar box. The results are stunning, and worthy of any serious anglers collection. Only 99 were made and each is sequentially numbered. Retail $1000. |
