A Colorado native, Jonathan Keisling fished his home rivers for many years. The Blue and South Platte Rivers are where he cut his teeth in the art of fly fishing.
Jonathan was passionate about fishing and it was easy to see when you met him. He spent most of his time on the water with clients or fishing on his own. He also devoted time to tying custom fly orders, presenting seminars on European nymphing techniques, and instructing on the basics of fly fishing.
Jonathan enjoyed every aspect of fly fishing from entomology to casting technique. He was especially enthusiastic about helping his clients grow in their area of interest.
“Aside from having the best job in the world, I like to be involved with the sport off of the river as much as free time allows."
"Presenting various fly fishing seminars and taking an active role as a member of Trout Unlimited, help keep me immersed in the sport. The best thing about being a guide is that I am able to assist in and experience the thrill of catching ‘the first fish’ or that ‘monster rainbow’.”
Jonathan and his wife, Brianna, lived in Morrison, CO with their two cats. Jonathan was a full-time guide and instructor with the Blue Quill. He was a member of the Cutthroat Chapter of Trout Unlimited and a member of the Solitude Fly Company Fly Design Team. His series of Czech nymphs were created specifically for the waters he fished.
Jonathan also enjoyed cooking, Notre Dame Football, photography, and a good bottle of beer.
