Muz Wilson started fishing about two days after learning to walk. Having parents that fish and growing up in close proximity to some of Victoria’s best trout lakes, destined hours spent on the water in his earlier years. At 15, Muz discovered fly fishing and it very quickly became an obsession. With catching fish and observations on the water he felt the need to teach himself to tie flies. He quickly found he had a unique ability. Muz has been tying flies commercially since 1991 and his innovative patterns and techniques are now internationally recognized. Muz will throw a fly at anything that swims, regardless in what species it is or where it lives. “Any fish that eats a fly is a good fish!” However Muz’s two main loves are dry fly fishing on small streams and wet fly fishing in the estuaries of western Victoria. Muz has had several articles published and is now a regular contributor to Fly Fisher Magazine, Australia’s bi-annual fly fishing magazine. He is currently working on finishing his first book and has just finished filming a DVD. Both of which will contain information on his unique fly patterns and tying techniques intertwined with great fish porn to keep the reader and viewer entertained!
