Lance Boen Fly Ball Eagle

Available for commission

Created from vintage baseball gloves, this eleven-foot, eight-inch sculpture is inspired by the nostalgia that comes from a well-worn and much-loved glove. With their leather fingers, the gloves transform into great feathered wings. The head and body are sculpted from gloves and at the heart, a catcher’s mitt holds a hand-crafted baseball. The gloves represent Major League dreams; the Bald Eagle represents the American sport; the Eagle in flight, catching the fly ball, represents the heart of the game, and gives the sculpture its name— Fly Ball Eagle: The American Sport.

Lance Marshall Boen is an artist based in Carmel Valley, California. With an international following, Lance’s sculptures are displayed in collections throughout the world. All works are one of a kind.
