Beth Hood

Born in Colorado and raised in Helena, Montana, Beth adopted an outdoors mentality at an early age. She credits her parents for instilling a love of the outdoors in her. Beth learned the ways of the rivers and the fish that live in them, and that knowledge increased as she spent several summers working in fly shops on the Missouri River. Beth began guiding on the Missouri River in 2009, and has become one of the rivers much requested full-time fly fishing guides. During the off-season you can find her making the most of Montana’s recreational lifestyle; downhill & cross-country skiing, hunting, hiking and camping. While the Missouri River is her home, Beth loves to fish the tropics during the winter months. She and her husband Geoff make annual trips to the Bahamas, Panama and Belize searching the flats for bonefish and permit. Recently married in Belize, they didn’t leave the ceremony in a limousine. They left in a Panga and headed to the flats. Beth and Geoff have also made several excursions to the Skeena drainage in BC, and she is an accomplished Steelhead angler and spey-caster. Beth feels fortunate to have the opportunity to make fly-fishing not only her career, but the driving force in her lifestyle. She and Geoff make their home on the banks of the Missouri River near Craig, Montana.
