Mr. Moore first experienced Montana and Yellowstone Nat’l Park at the age of 6, while on vacation with his parents and sister. Ten years later, after fishing throughout Illinois, Missouri and Arkansas, his father took him back to Montana for a three week fishing trip. Two years later, Joe moved to Montana and started working at a fly shop on the Missouri River, beginning a career that has now spanned eighteen years in the fishing business. He owns and operates Big Sky Anglers, an outfitting company based in West Yellowstone and guides clients throughout southwest Montana, Yellowstone Nat’l Park and makes an appearance on the Missouri River as often as he can. Joe works as a Field Tester for Patagonia, develops fly patterns for Montana Fly Company and helps to promote Freestone Fly Rods whenever possible. When not on the river, he can be found hunting upland birds with his Drahthaar in Oregon, Idaho and Montana or scouting/chasing elk. During the winter months, Joe works as a snow coach guide for Yellowstone Alpen Guides driving a vintage B12 Bombardier. Joe is married to the most understanding woman in the world, Molly, who is quite possibly the prettiest Park Ranger in all of the National Parks.
