LG, an upstate New York native, has been an outfitter and guide to the water of Western Montana for 25 years! With an Environmental Ecology degree from Paul Smiths College, he left all of this to extend his knowledge and love for fly fishing and fly tying! LG learned early from some of the very best in the industry, fly tying lessons with Frannie Betters on the Ausable River and his first guide trip with John Perry in Rock Creek, Montana! In 2000, LG scored his Montana outfitting license, creating 406 OUTFITTERS!!! Along with his passion for fishing came filming, editing, and fly fishing accessories.406 Productions and Flyvines are a successful result!!! With much success in Montana, LG took his fishing brain to Coyhaiquie, Chile for several years, working and learning the ways of South America. When he is not guiding, filming, or braiding recycled fly line, he stalks the flats for the elusive Permit. Lefty Kreh once said to me,” GOD MADE ONE FISH AND IT’S A PERMIT!”
