I grew up in Western Pennsylvania and fished in Bass ponds until I was old enough to drive. Once I was mobile, I fished all over Western Pennsylvania including the Great Lakes tributaries scene before it was a scene. I attended college at Penn State University when I continued my exploration on many of the legendary rivers in central PA like Penn’s Creek, Fishing Creek, Spruce Creek, and the Little Juniata. After graduating I moved west to Colorado and was a fishing guide the second day I was in the state. I worked for an outfitter for a few years and pounded nails on the side to make ends meet. In 1994 I started Gorsuch Outfitters and owned /operated that business successfully until 2006, when it was sold. After a few years off I find myself right back in the mix at Vail Valley Anglers as the GM. In my time off I like to travel to Alaska, BC, Bahamas, Chile and to Florida where I was a flats guide (in the winter months) from 1996-2006, tormenting the fish of Biscayne Bay, Florida Bay and the Everglades backcountry.
