Colorado native Jon Spiegel started fly fishing at the age of 12, and soon thereafter started his career in the fly fishing business. The last fourteen years have been spent working at Front Range Anglers in Boulder, Colorado, just outside of his hometown. Known to most as the local trout and warm water specialist, Jon has done it all, from throwing dry flies to wary spring creek fish in Montana, or wading a flat stalking Bonefish in Belize. This much can be said; sight fishing to challenging fish is what keeps him on the water and behind the vise, creating new patterns for Solitude Fly Company. Now in his thirties, you can find him chasing all fins that swim, day or night. He has fished the Bahamas, Belize, Chile, Germany, Austria, Slovenia, Alaska, Florida, Georgia South Carolina, and the Rockies, dreaming about the next cast and releasing the next big trophy.
When not fishing you can find Jon sitting in a duck blind or getting lost on the plains looking for pheasants. He currently lives in Louisville, CO with his wife Shannon.
