Capt. Sue Novik

Sue was born in eastern Idaho with a family that loved to camp and fish together. She began spending her summers whitewater rafting on Idaho’s Middle Fork of the Salmon River. Her passion for the outdoors and boating has shaped her life and career as an all around guide.

In 1995 Sue started guiding whitewater trips for “Wapiti River Guides” where she ran a dory for their multi-day whitewater trips on the Salmon River, Hells Canyon, Owyhee, and the Grand Rhonde.

In I998 Sue focused her attention on fishing and began guiding for “Drifters of the South Fork” on the Snake River in Swan Valley. She joined the South Fork Outfitters guide staff in 2000 through 2012, where she was recognized as one of the top, and most requested, guides. Sue enjoys guiding in the Jackson Hole One Fly where she posted big fish in the 2004 and won “Idaho Top Guide” honors in 2006 racking up 2,122. In 2014, Sue was awarded the “Carmichael/Cohen Memorial Guide Award recognizing her achievements within the fly fishing industry.

Sue is a certified Coast Guard Captain and spends her winters guiding fishing trips in Key West, Florida and Louisiana with her husband Brett. Sue and Brett enjoy hosting destination trips abroad where they can share their saltwater expertise with other anglers. In 2007 Brett and Sue were featured on Adventure Guides VERSES/OLN, which was filmed on the flats of Key West, Florida.
